This post is a commentary on the audio text “Fulcrums” by Dr. James Jealous.

Ponder these two unrelated questions:

1. What are Fulcrums? Are they real or are they a tool to help our busy minds with waiting? Or are they locations in the physiology? Are they anatomy or function? Turning the page is a tool through which we wait some more and notice how changing landscapes. We go through the doorways of fulcrums, and the landscapes change and shift. What are these doorways? New events emerge that we couldn’t see without waiting, without this wandering through these doorways. Is that the point, or is it some actual anatomical-physiological structure?

2. If you develop the skill to identify fulcrums, and you use them, as Dr. Jealous describes, as doorways, is there an endpoint in stillness? If you keep on this journey, won’t it get more and more still, won’t you find new landscapes over and over and over? Will you at some point approach the actual Breath of Life or in fact that which breathes this Breath of Life?

The answer to all these questions is yes. Fulcrums are real locations in physiology, they are energetic systems that are detectable through sensing. And fulcrums are tools that help us find landscapes we might otherwise miss. Fulcrums help increase our precision and accuracy in each treatment. And fulcrums are doorways, they are collections of potency, they are therapeutic events. The limiting factor is you. Dr. Jealous said this many times, the skill of the practitioner is the only limit on the treatment. Fulcrums can teach you. They will guide you on your journey if you continue to be willing to grow your skill…. through practice, through waiting, and most of all, through beginner’s mind.
